As another month of Names: A New Perspective begins to wind down, today I host James Maxy, author of the Dragon Age (nothing to do with the game) and Dragon Apocalypse series from Solaris Books. I've read only the first Dragon Apocalypse book, Greatshadow (review), to date, but I'm definitely eager to read more since I found it to be one of the best-written fantasy novels featuring dragons.

Today's guest on Names: A New Perspective is Clint Lee Werner, better known as C. L. Werner to all fans of Warhammer Fantasy fiction, and also one of my favourite writers as well. Some of Clint's early work, like Blood for the Blood God, was one of my earliest exposures to the world of Warhammer and he has stayed a staple of my reading ever since.

Wow it's been a while since I have been here!

Hello!!!

9 weeks.

In 9 weeks I have gone from tense, scared frazzled mummy...

to this...

Or there bouts!!!

In 18 months (or so)our lives have been completely turned upside down, round and round and inside out.

But I think the new normality is settling in.

First things first....

I don't know if you remember me telling you, but I wrote a journal for Melody, her life, our journey our heartbreaking goodbyes; with the storm clouds that darkened beautiful Melody's outcome to finding an ounce of colour back in our lives with a rainbow.

Haven’t posted properly for a while! Sorreeee!

I may have got carried away somewhere! I’m not actually sure what the original purpose of this post was, so I’ll just keep you all updated.

I’m working on The Last Diner submission as we speak, and currently nearing completion. Hopefully going to be printed in some sort of book that isn’t self-published! And then the world will be mine! Bwahahahaha! Ahem. If the submissions don’t get accpeted into the anthologies, they’ll be posted here as part of the Tales series! Trying to work out the details of the prequel Fall of Terra for July’s Camp Nanowrimo, and I’m currently formatting The Package to be released soon! Hopefully!

We’re getting closer and closer to the Core War series being started. I’ve been trying to desperately get averything else finished so that I can concentrate fully on it.

Ooh, I almost forgot, next Saturday, I’ll be posting the return of the Tales of the Nineteen Galaxies!!!! From then on, the stories will be every two to three weeks, rather than every week (struggling to come up with ideas every week… sorry). The first will be a return to a certain badass you-know-who, although it will be a story set before the end of Legend.

And our little Kelsi is soooo cute! She’s squishy and now 8lb 7oz (or was last week, she gets weighed again on monday). She’s had a couple of growth spurts and eating and poohing aplenty! Had some fun changing a couple of nappies only for her to wee on the new one before I can even get it on properly! Cue several more as she repeats it several times….

I’m not complaining at all!

She’s so cute!

Did I say that already?

Oh, and we’re getting a cat, that me and JJ want to call Porridge (much to Leah’s disgust):

So cute!

My army of minions is growing….

Stopping by the blog today for the latest Names: A New Perspective post is Robbie MacNiven, a fellow Boltholer who got published last year and has been going all out with his love of writing. I haven't had a chance to read any of his work yet, but it is on the reading pile for sure. As with most other posts that I've had a chance and the pleasure to feature on the blog so far, Robbie's take on names is just as interesting and varied.

In January and February, I ran two highly successful polls where I asked all the readers of the blog to help me pick my reading list for the following months. The first one was for novels, the second one for comics. I managed to meet the reading goals for the first of those polls, but am still progressing through the second one, mostly because I've been traveling a bit too much of late, and reading time has generally been at a premium due to work and more time devoted to my writing.

Guesting on the blog today for Names: A New Perspective is Scott Lynch, author of the smash hit Gentlemen Bastard series, the third novel in which, The Republic of Thieves, will be published later this year. Gentlemen Bastard has been on my reading radar for a while now, given the praise I've heard about the series from several friends, but haven't been able to get to it given the staggering levels of Mount Toberead.

Her first book, Gemsigns, is now available from Jo Fletcher Books and from what I've read of it so far, it is shaping up rather nicely. A near-but-distant future Earth where mega-corporations have created tens of thousands (perhaps more) of bioengineered human slaves who have recently been given their freedom?
